We caught Jericho tonight at around 9:45, he was taking shelter in a old barn about a mile from where he originally escaped, the property owner had been feeding him for a couple of days and saw one of our signs we had posted in the area (we posted over 250) called us and we came over with food, prepared to spend the night in the car waiting for him to go in... but he was already inside so we just shut the door!

He is safe and warm and will be on a very short leash for quite some time! ;)

We adopted Gracie 3 years ago from the Humane Society. She was 27 pounds underweight with a bad case of kennel cough, and it didn't take me more than 3 minutes to decide that I wanted to take her home. She has such a sweet face, and was absolutely starved for attention. It's remarkable what a little medicine, food and TLC will do for a dog. It took less than 4 months for her to get an absolutely clean bill of health.
We have done some (read:very little) obedience training with Gracie, and have had success in the areas that were important to us. She is a very energetic dog, and because of the apparent extended time she spent alone before being taken to the Humane Society, she fixates on food. She is not aggressive with food AT ALL, but if there is a spilled slice of meatloaf on the ground - she is blind and deaf to any instruction you may want to give her. We have gotten to a place where she will listen and obey regarding food that is on the counter - but usually only while you are in the room. She is perfectly housebroken, does AWESOME with cats and dogs (even our "no-dog" cat, a 9 year old tabby), and loves kids.
As time has gone on, our lives have changed quite a bit. We had our first daughter in July, and are beginning to consider running an in-home business to allow me to be home with her. We have known for quite some time that Gracie needed more than we were giving her. She is walked and played with regularly, but Gracie's thirst for play and running is seemingly unquenchable. She does GREAT when she stays with other dogs. It seems to be the only thing that tuckers her out. She has never had a problem fitting in with any group of dogs I've ever seen her interact with, regardless of how long that particular "pack" has known each other. She is not food or toy aggressive, and submits readily to alpha dogs. I think that some part of us thought that eventually, we would get another dog and Gracie would finally have a playmate to get worn out with. We have come to the realistic realization that this will likely never happen, and that we are not doing anyone a service by keeping her in our home. We can't provide what she needs, and with a new baby and potentially a new home-based career in the works - we feel increasingly incapable of caring for her.

If you have taken the time to read all of this, I am hopeful that you might be a good fit if you are interested in a good dog. She is as loyal as the day is long, and as good-natured as they come. I would recommend homes with children over 2 years old, as Gracie is sometimes unaware of her movements around smaller babies - though never intentionally harmful. Because we only want to give Gracie to a home that can better care for her than we are able to, we want to be sure that she is going to either a family that is looking for an animal to take and do lots of activities with, or a family that already has a dog who would be a good companion to Grace.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested, and we can work out the details from there. A small rehoming fee will apply.

My fiance and I are seeking a dog to give a loving home. We have three cats, one of which we got for free off of CL about a nine or ten months ago. With that said, we do need the dog to be cat-friendly. We'd also like him/her to be dog and people friendly as well, as we love to frequent a local off-leash dog park. We are actively seeking a dog both on CL and off, including the Tacoma Humane Society and other rescues and shelters.

Our cats, including our loving little girl we got free here on CL, choose their spot on our bed before we do, and we work our way around them. They sleep with us every night if they want to, and come and go from our room as they wish. They are never kept out of our room, because they're spoiled.

We would love to give a small dog a great home, however we're willing to consider any dog as long as he/she is cat/dog/people friendly, UTD on shots, and fully housebroken (not just puppy pads). We'd prefer the dog to already be fixed, but if not that's fine, too. We'd prefer a very low re-home fee, please, no hundred or more dollars, because that takes away from the money we can use to spoil the dog we adopt. We see it as this: you are seeking to re-home you dog. We are seeking to adopt a dog. Why can't we just be humans and humane about caring for the dog. Ultimately isn't it what is in the dog's best interest? Just because we cannot afford to pay lots of money to "buy" your dog, does not mean we cannot provide him/her with a loving home.

We have a fully fenced in back yard, though the dog would only be out there for a few hours at a time, if that long, and only with us out playing with him/her unless we let him/her out to go to the bathroom. On top of that, frequent visits to the local off-leash dog park would definitely be something our newly-adopted dog would get to enjoy, as well as going on walks with us.

Our cats are pretty much dog-tolerant, and all three have been around my sister's husky-malamute. The dog and the cats came away without a scratch! We do not mind paying a small re-home fee (up to like $75 dollars, but that's negotiable depending on the dog and the circumstances around it), but contact us and we are willing to discuss the matter with you!

Again, we want the following to even begin considering a dog:

- CAT friendly is an ABSOLUTE must! You HAVE to know this FIRST HAND! I will not risk my kitties lives just to get a dog!
- Dog/people/child friendly is also a MUST so that we can take him/her to the dog park.
- UTD on shots.
- Fixed, preferred (but we can take care of that) -- Also, let us know if the dog is micro-chipped please (not required)
- FULLY housebroken -- please this is also a must!
- LOW or NO re-home fee.

So please, we do want to open our hearts to a new canine family member. We're not crazies, we love animals and want to add one more animal friend to our family. So, please, open your heart and let your dog find a good home without lining your wallet, let the money go to where it belongs -- taking care of the dog you have come to need to re-home.

I'm hoping that by maybe just posting this it can help me a little faster than the way I've been going about this.

First let me start by my name. I'm Liz, (21 years old, almost 22!...jeese I'm getting old...)I am looking for a small dog to be my best friend for the next year then migrate into becoming mine and my boyfriends new "baby". My boyfriend (of 2 years) is being deployed in January and seeing how this will be my first time home alone with out him I need a compainion.

We live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath upstairs down stairs "town house" I say apartment, with very friendly neighbors that also have small dogs. There is a court yard for the puppies (to me a puppy is always a puppy) to play in and I have several parks near my home.

My love even though he thinks he's sneaky and I don't know is planning to ask me to marry him for Christmas, so the puppy will be coming into a very stable home with a promise of it being a secure home with a family that loves him/her.

Here's where you come in. I don't have alot of money infact I think if you are wanting to give your dog to the best home you can find.. I'm right here! I will invest as much time in your puppy as I would my love (he's a huge baby so this is a FULL TIME JOB) but I don't have the funds for the 250-550 "adoption" fee... I mean lets be honest you're selling your dogs babies, that's not adoption... but I do understand there are many fee's involved with raising this sweet puppy like shots and other puppy doctor bills. Sorry this listing is starting to get long and I know your focus time is running short... I want a baby (puppy) to invest my time in so I won't miss my Love as much, you want to find your puppy a good home. Free is best but please let me know what we can work out...

Driving home non stop to get these poor dogs home to Washington for a second chance at a real life was the only concern. When we arrived home these dogs were greeted by Tacoma firefighters and a large group of volunteers from all over, and even media attention. As we bathed each dog and attended to their problems we began to see the scope of what these poor animals had endured at their stay at Camp Wolfgang. The extent of their human interaction was often no more then seeing a person deliver food and hose down their kennel.

Most of these dogs had spent years at this place leading a sad and lonely existence. Every dog was beyond filthy taking at minimum 5 baths to wash them clean. Most of the dogs endured severe matting from years of shedding without any grooming. Hot spots, long nails, long term untreated ear mites, mangled ears from scratching mites, bloody feet from unkept cement kennels, and far worse conditions. Rebecca for example is now recovering from surgery to remove a 15" spleen!

Why are we telling you about this? Because these dogs still need all of our help. We are still in need of a few foster homes for these dogs. Please consider being an angel to one of these dogs. Show them that humans are not all horrible people. Even with all they have been through, these dogs are craving human companionship and to simply be loved. You will not find a more grateful dog in the world. Coming from such a hopeless existence they have not given up.

Can you spare a corner in your house to let a sweet dog sleep? Can you show a dog the love s/he so deserves until their forever family can find them and adopt them? Are you interested in potentially adopting one of these amazing dogs? Fosters are allowed first choice in adopting the dog they are housing.

Are you considering adding a family member to your house? We have many German Shepherds and Shepherd crosses available from this rescue mission. These dogs are even "famous", having been on channel 5 and 7 evening news, the examiner, front page of the News Tribune, and many other sources. Each dog is altered, up to date on shots, rabies, and microchiped for only a $100 adoption fee.

Another option is to find him a loving home. He is my little man and I need him to go to a good home only! I would want to stay in touch if possible to see how he is doing. I really do not want anything for him as far as re-homing fees go but I did just read what PETA said about that man in Montana. I don't know what is fair or what to re-home him for so that could be discussed. I would like to meet you and come to your home to see if you are a good match. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I found out something bad happened to him. I would prefer to keep him but I have to have my house because my kids do have to come first.
My phone was dropped in the toilet today (terrible day for me) by my 2 year old son so I don't have a picture only on my phone. He is a Shih Tzu and absolutely the BEST! Please email me with any info you might have or if you would like to meet him for possible adoption, I will check my emails often. Unfortunately I have no info on your specific pet but I do have a few links that I had to use when my dogs disappeared. I know that some people do not realize it but dogs can go missing and end up a lot farther away then people originally think. I was told or read once that a dog can travel up to 30 miles a day on their own feet and then you think of well meaning people and cars and who knows how far. Cats I don't know.

I do want to mention that we had our 2 labs go missing 1 1/2 years ago when they jumped our fence while we were gone. We finally found our male when he was hit by a car (at about 10 min drive from our house) 1 month after he went missing and I had flyers all over including on my truck and no response and then it was a petfinder ad that the vets office saw and contacted us through. Our other lab was found 2+ months later in Eastern WA at a shelter out near yakima area and I guess they had a heck of a time with her and getting her healthy and missing that long. They said that she was still a jumper and had a family that wanted her and had an 8 ft fence (and since we had 4 dogs already at the time because we had rescued 2 others and adopted another rescued one) we let the other family take over her care. I heard one time that a dog can travel on average of 10 or 20 miles a day ; thats quite a distance. And like for us we live by a freeway and costco; anyone from anywhere going anywhere could pick them up. Do you have most of the links for websites? if not here you go:

He's already neutered, and can either be an indoor or outdoor cat, he doesn't care which.

He's very friendly as well as very large(20+ lbs). He's not overweight either he's just a huge cat. He's fine around children and other cats.
